ew-cli 1.4.1

New (enterprise customers only): the emulator binary and system images are now loosely pinned to the ew-cli version.

CI pipelines that randomly start to fail because we’ve made an emulator binary update is a bad day for everyone - you can now control when you get the updates by updating ew-cli in a timely manner.

NOTE: we won’t be keeping old combinations available forever, if you stay on a relatively old version of ew-cli you will get a silent update.

  • New (enterprise customers only): This version updates all non-ATD emulators with API version 29 and later from 2GiB to 4GiB of RAM. Customers on the Startup and Scaleup plans get this change immediately without having to upgrade ew-cli.

Emulators

  • New: API 29 and later emulators now have 4GiB of RAM instead of 2GiB. This should reduce the amount of OOMs and memory pressure on the emulator, especially with larger apps and test suites.

    NOTE: enterprise customers need to update to ew-cli 1.4.1 / Gradle plugin 1.7.1 / GitHub action 1.1.1 or later to get this change.
